BYDFi Promotes Secure Onboarding Amidst Welcome Reward Campaign
Cryptocurrency exchange BYDFi is offering new users up to 8,100 USDT in welcome rewards, but frames the promotion as a security-first guide to protect users from common onboarding threats.

Cryptocurrency exchange BYDFi has launched a new platform upgrade, "BYDFi Revamp," which consolidates campaigns, tasks, and reward claims into a unified "Rewards Hub." As part of this initiative, new users are being offered welcome rewards of up to 8,100 USDT. However, the exchange is emphasizing a security-first approach, presenting the promotional campaign as a "threat model" to educate users on potential risks during the onboarding process.
The company highlights that the period when a new user's account transitions from empty to funded is precisely when attackers, such as credential phishers, SIM swappers, and wallet-drainer operators, focus their campaigns. BYDFi's guide aims to inform users about these threats and detail the security controls available on its platform to mitigate them before any funds are at risk.
To ensure a secure start, BYDFi advises users to register exclusively through official channels, either by typing the URL directly or using a trusted bookmark, and to avoid links from unsolicited messages or search ads. For account creation, it recommends using a dedicated email address separate from other online accounts to limit the impact of potential breaches. Crucially, users are urged to enable robust security measures before funding their accounts.
Key security recommendations include setting up passkey sign-in, which binds authentication to the legitimate BYDFi domain, thereby preventing phishing attempts on cloned sites. Additionally, users should enable two-factor authentication (2FA) via an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, set up an anti-phishing code for email communications, and activate a withdrawal whitelist. This whitelist feature imposes a 24-hour delay on withdrawals to newly added addresses, providing a window to detect and reverse unauthorized changes.
BYDFi also stresses the importance of completing identity verification (KYC) early in the process. This not only unlocks access to certain tasks and rewards but also simplifies account recovery if access is lost. Users are instructed to submit verification documents only through the official BYDFi app or website, explicitly warning against "verification agents" who solicit information via direct messages.
The Rewards Hub itself is presented as a security checkpoint, where users can review legitimate tasks, requirements, and deadlines. Any reward information should be verifiable within the logged-in account; offers appearing solely in emails or chats are to be treated as suspicious. BYDFi reiterates that legitimate reward claims occur within the platform, and users will never be asked to "unlock" a reward by sending funds or sharing sensitive codes.
The exchange also points to its "Event Center" for additional limited-time promotions, cautioning that payout delays in these events can be exploited by scammers. Users are advised to carefully review the terms and conditions for all rewards and promotions, including leverage limits and contract details for futures trading, and to contact BYDFi support for location-specific inquiries.
