Airties Integrates Router-Level Cybersecurity for ISPs
Airties enhances its Connectivity Experience Management Platform with AI-driven cybersecurity features, enabling ISPs to deploy routers as a frontline defense for connected homes and small businesses.

Airties has announced the integration of new AI-driven cybersecurity capabilities into its Connectivity Experience Management Platform, transforming routers into a crucial security layer for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to deploy. This move aims to provide a robust baseline network protection for subscribers, safeguarding connected homes and small businesses against an increasingly sophisticated threat landscape.
The cybersecurity threat landscape is rapidly evolving, with AI-powered attacks becoming more prevalent and sophisticated. The average home now faces approximately 29 cyberattacks daily, a significant increase from previous years. This escalating risk has led consumers to expect their ISPs to offer security services, with a substantial majority of both consumers and small businesses citing cybersecurity as a major concern. The rise of AI in attack methodologies means threat actors can generate more complex and faster attacks than traditional security databases can effectively counter.
"Cybersecurity inside the home and business router must be the frontline of defense in today's age of connected-device proliferation and AI," stated Metin Taskin, CEO of Airties. He highlighted that many operators currently rely on fragmented solutions from various vendors, lacking a holistic view of in-home network activity. Airties, with its extensive reach across millions of homes, is positioned to consolidate this data and provide an integrated defense mechanism.
Sachin Chickballapur, Chief Technical and Product Officer at Airties, further emphasized the growing number of connected devices and the accelerating pace of cyber threats. He noted that by making the router the first line of defense, Airties empowers operators to deliver continuous protection across their subscriber base and mitigate emerging risks associated with agentic AI systems in homes and businesses.
The new cybersecurity features offer two primary layers of protection. The first is mass-market security, providing every connected device with protections such as malicious website blocking, content filtering, and parental controls. This layer ensures a foundational level of security without requiring additional apps or purchases from the end-user.
The second layer is advanced security, which includes enhanced protection for the router itself and Smart IoT devices. This layer leverages AI for threat detection and remediation, identifying and responding to new attack patterns that traditional, often outdated, threat databases miss. It also offers specific features for businesses, including port blocking, network segmentation, and client isolation.
Airties' platform utilizes over two decades of device, application, and network intelligence to create an adaptive threat-detection system. This system is designed to counter AI-generated threats and protect against CPE exploitation, port scans, and brute force attacks. For headless IoT devices, it detects anomalous traffic and Botnet command-and-control communication, with the ability to quarantine infected devices.
Looking ahead, Airties plans to introduce "Agentic Shield" to help ISPs prepare for risks introduced by agentic AI systems. This feature will harden networks against new perimeters created by the use of AI agents in homes and businesses, ensuring that ISPs can proactively address the evolving security challenges posed by advanced AI technologies.
