Details
**Severity:** Critical **Affected versions:** `= 1` ## Source: kam193 (a0c56680f6f4db81ec1ad0691253d592055a3581b00e9c93e3dfd6d448b63212) Package contains obfuscated reverse shell. However, it connects with a local IP only, thus it's much more a test than a malicious action --- Category: PROBABLY_PENTEST - Packages looking like typical pentest packages, but also anything that looks like testing, exploring pre-prepared kits, research & co, with clearly low-harm possibilities. Campaign: 2025-10-donotinstall Reasons (based on the campaign): - The package contains code to create a reverse shell, allowing an attacker to execute any commands on the victim's machine. - obfuscation --- Credit: [OpenSSF](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages) ([source](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/49d0cfba3689ed9b195d101d3a2a964c6a77f767/osv/malicious/pypi/donotinstall/MAL-2025-191622.json)) **References:** - https://bad-packages.kam193.eu/pypi/package/donotinstall - https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/49d0cfba3689ed9b195d101d3a2a964c6a77f767/osv/malicious/pypi/donotinstall/MAL-2025-191622.json - https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-x8cx-vq72-3447
