Malicious code in maila-talijah-alpha-128 (npm)
Details
**Severity:** Critical **Affected versions:** `= 1.1.11` Part of a self-republishing campaign: the package ships loop.js, which in a loop gives the package a new random name, bumps its version, rewrites package.json and runs `npm publish` to publish the package again under the new name. Self-replicating publication is the propagation step of a registry worm and fills the registry with copies. Version examined: 1.1.11; tarball SHA-256 ada56a62bf0b24e80c2cf729e7513e9a7072e3eb2ef9193c3f511beded852041. --- Credit: [OpenSSF](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages) ([source](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/96784445b5d8dfec9ef357a890e7db920b562f09/osv/malicious/npm/maila-talijah-alpha-128/MAL-2026-18662.json)) **References:** - https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/96784445b5d8dfec9ef357a890e7db920b562f09/osv/malicious/npm/maila-talijah-alpha-128/MAL-2026-18662.json - https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-pmxw-wvq7-rjgp
