Malicious code in dian-peyek23-miaww (npm)
Details
**Severity:** Critical **Affected versions:** `= 1.1.3` Part of a self-republishing campaign: the package ships auto.js, which in a loop gives the package a new random name, bumps its version, rewrites package.json and runs `npm publish` to publish the package again under the new name. Self-replicating publication is the propagation step of a registry worm and fills the registry with copies. Version examined: 1.1.3; tarball SHA-256 9eadc6c8561f12e32e92959a4a2b1d426a90846bc57bc0f75b19a5d14e939429. --- Credit: [OpenSSF](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages) ([source](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/96784445b5d8dfec9ef357a890e7db920b562f09/osv/malicious/npm/dian-peyek23-miaww/MAL-2026-18660.json)) **References:** - https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/96784445b5d8dfec9ef357a890e7db920b562f09/osv/malicious/npm/dian-peyek23-miaww/MAL-2026-18660.json - https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-phmx-r6fx-798c
