Details
**Severity:** Critical **Affected versions:** `= 0.1.1` ## Source: kam193 (6a612693cb09ca6ca66ccd908b99293ec9ade7b7a719b78f0743332cba338071) Importing the module triggers sending out the hostname to the package author. It looks to be a placeholder/pentest activity related to BytedDance. --- Category: PROBABLY_PENTEST - Packages looking like typical pentest packages, but also anything that looks like testing, exploring pre-prepared kits, research & co, with clearly low-harm possibilities. Campaign: 2024-11-0wn-sh Reasons (based on the campaign): - The package contains code to exfiltrate basic data from the system, like IP or username. It has a limited risk. --- Credit: [OpenSSF](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages) ([source](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/49d0cfba3689ed9b195d101d3a2a964c6a77f767/osv/malicious/pypi/shoots-flutter/MAL-2025-987.json)) **References:** - https://bad-packages.kam193.eu/pypi/package/shoots-flutter - https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/49d0cfba3689ed9b195d101d3a2a964c6a77f767/osv/malicious/pypi/shoots-flutter/MAL-2025-987.json - https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-hcxj-25f6-9jp5
