GHSA-cc98-qqxc-x7r6
Malicious code in pino-std (npm)
Details
**Severity:** Critical **Affected versions:** `= 7.2.0` pino-std ships lib/contract.js, byte-identical to the pino-testkit payload: a copy of the pino logger with an extra obfuscated module that decodes and evaluates code at load. It is a new name for the pino-testkit (MAL-2026-16484) campaign; the file hashes below match that record's evidence. The package presents itself as an ordinary utility, so the code runs on import or install without the user knowing. --- Credit: [OpenSSF](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages) ([source](https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/23ba843b4a773277fa7a4a51240e83cd70ea2a45/osv/malicious/npm/pino-std/MAL-2026-18692.json)) **References:** - https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/23ba843b4a773277fa7a4a51240e83cd70ea2a45/osv/malicious/npm/pino-std/MAL-2026-18692.json - https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-16484 - https://www.npmjs.com/package/pino-std - https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-cc98-qqxc-x7r6
